I (Liz) have always felt connected to the ocean. The third highest tides in the world are found in Bristol, UK, where I grew up. I upgraded when I moved to Nova Scotia, where The Bay of Fundy has the world’s absolute highest tides.

I love to write, and I often make sense of the world through metaphors. I love to think of the contractions of pregnancy as waves. This metaphor was perception altering for me during my experience of labour.

I support families to drift calmly in to their parenthood journey.

Just like new parents, a piece of driftwood is on a journey - trying out a new coast line, dipping its toes in the ocean, courageously traversing a path not travelled before and, letting the ocean shape it along the way.
